TONY RIENZO, B.S., CSCS, NASM-CPT

While in college, Tony worked as a personal trainer at New York Sports Club and interned at the Lawrenceville School in the Strength and Conditioning Department. He also worked at a private facility training youth athletes before settling in to his job at the Lawrenceville School.

Tony is currently the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Lawrenceville School, working with female and male athletes from over 20 different sports. He also teaches a Personal Development Seminar to freshmen and sophomores focusing on time management, overall health and well-being, drug and alcohol abuse, reproductive health, etc.

Tony has dedicated his life to working with athletes and has worked with thousands of youth athletes. It is very fulfilling to coach or mentor an athlete and help them reach their full potential. Coaching athletes and starting to build a foundation is so important when training high school athletes and Tony spends every day doing just that.

Tony originally chose to attend TCNJ because it was close to home but far enough away to become independent from his parents and he had a few other friends attending the school. He wasn’t too sure what he wanted to major in and what his future might hold until he discovered the Health and Exercise Science Department during his sophomore year. He quickly fell in love with the field and decided that he wanted to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach after having a wonderful experience interning at the Lawrenceville School. Serving on the alumni board allows Tony a chance to give back to the community and the college that afforded him so many great opportunities.
Tony currently lives in Flemington, NJ with his wife and daughter. When he is not working or training himself, he enjoys watching and playing sports, doing yardwork, and just relaxing and enjoying family time. Although never completely fond of running growing up, he recently ran in the Rutgers Half Marathon and the Tri-StateTough Mudder and enjoys running various 5k races throughout the year.
